Wind Farm “POMONA I and II”

The Wind Farm “POMONA I and II” s”POMONA I and II” is located in the province of Rio Negro, 10 km from Pomona in a rural area, on an open and relatively flat terrain through which a 132kV High Voltage Line (HAT) and two 500 kV lines cross.

It has a total area of ​​2,440 ha where 29 wind turbines were installed like this:

• POMONA I: 26 wind turbines
• POMONA II: 3 wind turbines

Those develop and provide a maximum power of approximately 113 Mw to the interconnected system..

The wind turbines are composed by a 120-meter-high steel tower where the Nacelle is located with a turning diameter of 131 meters , delivering total power of 3.9 Mw.

During construction, a total of 307 people de diferentes nacionalidades como por ejemplo de Venezuelans, Brazilians, Spanish, Portuguese, Chilean, Uruguayan, German and Argentineworked in different activities and professions to achieve the desired goal.

A total of two (2) main cranes were used to assemble the wind turbines:

• Liebherr LR1600 (600TN) Wide gauge for mounting of T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, Nacelle, bushing, drive trains and blades.
• Liebherr LR1600 (600TN) Narrow gauge for mounting T1, T2, T3, T4, T5, Nacelle, hub, drive train and blades.

THE SERVICES PERFORMED IN THIS PROJECT WERE THE FOLLOWING:

• Permanent general management service in HSE on site.
• Advice and Responsibilities of Hygiene and Security Services.
• Preparation of the General Environmental Management Plan.
• Environment service on site.
